Omaha Dreams Beer Review | Rally Cap Brewing Co.

Beer reviews by someone who just knows when it tastes good. Ratings are biased to my preference. Cheers boys.

Rally Cap was the first brewery I visited when I lived in Baton Rouge. Their taproom was where I learned to appreciate a good local craft beer, and it will always hold a special place in my heart for that reason. Rally Cap is still one of my favorite brewing companies, and I always pick up a 4-pack (or two) when I’m at Total Wine.

It was only fitting for them to come out with a new beer in honor of LSU baseball making it to the Men’s College World Series this year #geauxtigers (at least that’s how the story goes in my head since they’re based out of Baton Rouge).

Rally Cap Brewing Co. Omaha Dreams sour ale beer can

Omaha Dreams is a 5.7% ABV fruited sour ale brewed with apricot, plum, raspberry, vanilla, and lactose.

I picked this up at Total Wine because the fruit combo was one I hadn’t seen before. The sourness overpowers the flavor of the fruit at first but is quickly balanced out and has a sweet finish. One fruit doesn’t overtake the others, with each one’s flavor being pretty uniform.

Would I get it again? I probably wouldn’t pick it up in-store, but I’d definitely get it on draft if I saw it at the bar. Overall, I’d give Omaha Dreams a 7/10. It’s a very good sour, but not something I feel I need to keep stocked in my fridge.
